Student Recruitment Coordinator- Katy
This position is located in Katy, Tx. Coordinates, promotes and facilitates the enrollment of students to the university with a focus on creating and maintaining relationships with community colleges, local businesses, and local organizations. In collaboration with UHV Katy Enrollment Management team, develops and coordinates a student recruitment plan for prospective undergraduate and graduate students. Conducts regular visits to community colleges in the target area to maintain relationships with administrators, counselors, faculty, and students. Communicates and corresponds with prospective students to answer questions regarding the university and to assist students with enrollment processes. Conducts recruiting events in the target area, which includes coordinating with advisors, faculty, alumni, and other university-related personnel. Assists senior director with developing and implementing recruitment strategies targeted toward prospects in the target area. Tracks prospective students in a database and compiles reports of recruitment activities. Coordinates and participates in recruiting efforts with other university recruiting staff. Attends community events to network and identify future opportunities for recruiting graduate students to the university. Participates in program evaluations, reporting, and assessment measures. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in student counseling, business administration, education or related field Minimum Experience: (1) year related experience
Instruction and Outreach Librarian
Designs and implements library instruction and information literacy efforts for all levels of classes; develops and promotes services for students using a variety of media; collaborates with other librarians to coordinate library marketing and outreach materials. Designs, implements, and promotes library-related instruction to all levels of classes; selects appropriate delivery methods, including written, oral, visual, and online. Collaborates with faculty and instructional support personnel to ensure alignment with desired learning outcomes and objectives. Maintains and reports accurate assessments of instructional activities and learning outcomes. Collaborates with other librarians to coordinate library instruction, information literacy, and outreach efforts through materials and events. Provides reference services at the main reference desk. Participates in collection development in assigned subject area. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Education: Master's degree in library science. Minimum Experience: (2) years related experience.
Sr Instructional Designer
Designs and develops instructional materials and course content for electronic learning environments in collaboration with faculty and course instructors. Manages course development projects; promotes new development and assesses instructional technology initiatives. Consults with and advises faculty and other course instructors on the design and development of course content and instructional activities; suggests instructional strategies and technologies; provides guidance and support for face-to-face, online, and hybrid instruction. Manages course development projects; monitors, tracks, and accounts for project planning, progress, deliverables, quality assurance, and customer service; manages the course development and quality review process for Fast Track courses in cooperation with Academic Partnerships. Provides guidance and promotes new developments through the university community for innovative teaching and learning strategies, educational technologies, and course quality. Designs and delivers faculty training programs, workshops, and seminars on innovative teaching strategies and technologies; facilitates faculty learning forums and communities; manages the faculty professional development component (Activity 2) of the Title III grant. Researches, evaluates, and recommends instructional technologies and innovative teaching strategies; plans and implements technology initiatives and teaching methodologies. Designs and produces instructional media utilizing sound design principles, including audio and video, graphics, animation, presentations, and web-based content. Creates instructional materials and electronic resources such as tutorials, newsletters, presentations, and web content to support instructors. Develops assessment plans for instructional technology initiatives; surveys and analyzes user needs; prepares associated documents; and presents data and recommendations. Maintains professional development in instructional design, online teaching and learning topics, educational technologies, project management, and training development. Supports non-academic departments' use off instructional technology. Serves as liaison with UH system Teaching and Learning Centers. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in instructional design, communication or related field; master's degree preferred Minimum Experience: (5) years related experience Notes to Applicant: Preferred Qualifications: Highly skilled with Learn Original LMS; Microsoft Teams and Office applications; and Panopto or other lecture capture and media management platforms. Knowledge of Open Educational Resources (OER); Universal Design for Learning (UDL); Quality Matters or other course quality assessment rubrics; and WCAG 2+ accessibility guidelines and best practices in digital communications. Skills in using a variety of applications for digital content creation, productivity, social media, elearning development, and classroom instruction.
PT/Temp Shuttle Bus Driver
Drives a shuttle bus ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of the passengers. Operates shuttle bus for transporting all types of passengers, including ADA and special- needs passengers. Obeys all traffic laws and university policies and procedures. Maintains shuttle bus and associated resources in operable condition and reports any deficiencies to supervisor; ensures communication devices and ADA lift are in proper working condition. Cleans and washes shuttle bus and associated resources to maintain appearance. Attends training as required. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. This is a part-time/temporary position. Position is NOT benefits-eligible. Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED. Minimum Experience: 3 years related experience; valid Class B commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement and an acceptable driving record.
