Lecturer in Mathematics

The successful candidate will teach courses in general education mathematics as well as overseeing general education mathematics assessment. Inaddition, committee participation, and experience in online course development are desirable. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and student success at the university level. The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Lecturers are required to maintain additional hours outside the classroom to provide assistance to students. Specific assignments are dependent upon department needs. Candidates may be called upon to teach in a distance education mode.Teach 12 hours per semester of undergraduate level courses which may include some evenings; College Algebra, Contemporary Math and other courses. participate in core curriculum program development and assessment; work cooperatively with diverse groups; perform other duties as assigned by: the Dean of Arts and Sciences and the Chair of the Division; work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population. The appointment is a nine month, non-tenure track position. Budget Analyst

Performs professional accounting and analytical support of the daily operations in the Budget Office. Reconciles weekly suspense report, identifies and reallocates payroll issues, processes reallocations, and coordinates with department personnel to correct position budget issues. Performs monthly verification of university suspense cost center and departmental cost centers for director's review. Prepares budget and general ledger journals to initiate transfers from university contingencies, as approved by the Executive Committee. Assists in the preparation of the annual operating budget process, which includes coordination and implementation of the annual budget and submission of the Legislative Appropriations Request. Responds to departmental inquiries; advises departmental administrative personnel to resolve budget issues. Reviews and processes requests for new cost centers, programs, and cost center managers; assigns appropriate chart field values, prepares documentation, and notifies department contacts. Manages office procurement and travel expenses through the university's credit card. Serves as access services coordinator for the Budget website. Assists Senior Budget Analyst and Director with special projects. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field, and/or equivalent combination of education and recent related experience. Minimum Experience: (2) years related experience

 

Building Maintenance Supervisor

Oversees daily building maintenance operations, supervises assigned staff, and performs maintenance and repairs for buildings in assigned zone. Supervises and provides technical support to assigned staff in the maintenance and repair of university buildings in assigned zone. Oversees and maintains building automation systems in assigned zone; administers and monitors system repairs and preventative maintenance program. Oversees daily work order log, ensuring timely completion of work orders within time and budget constraints. Schedules in-house and contracted minor renovation projects. Inspects buildings in assigned zone weekly for needed maintenance and repairs; reports findings to supervisor for planning and prioritization. Performs skilled and general repairs in assigned zone. Coaches and trains assigned staff on job assignments and work standards; ensures staff complete all mandatory and safety training. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Education: (60) semester hours of college coursework. Minimum Experience: 5 years construction, maintenance or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; prefer license in one or more construction trades. Field Supervisor- School of Education

The Field Supervisor acts as a link between the university, program course work, the student teacher and the field placement sites (district/school). He/she shares responsibility for assisting students to develop their knowledge, skills, attitudes, dispositions and beliefs in professionally productive ways within the framework of the program. A Field Supervisor conducts observations and completes documents on a prescribed schedule. Location: Victoria, TX and surrounding Independent School Districts. Requirements: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned: Assist students in applying their knowledge and skills to school settings. Aid students in improving their professional decision-making abilities through critical self-reflection and self-analysis. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships between the university and the schools. Remediate difficulties or differences which may arise and which may affect the teacher. Complete a supervisor training at UHV that is required of all supervisors by Texas Education Agency. Conduct required observations and formal documentation due for each student on a prescribed schedule. Attend student teaching orientation seminar each semester and visit each teacher candidate four times for observations at the school site. Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in curriculum and instruction, administration and supervision, or other related education field Texas state teaching license. Must have been a classroom teacher for at least five years or served as an administrator in a K-12 school for three years.
